Metso Lime Kiln Optimizer for lime kiln control supervises the lime mud filter operation, the kiln burning process, burner flame form and the filling degree at optimum residual carbonate level. Mud filter controls stabilizes the dry solids at the highest achievable level. Lime quality changes according to the kilns filling degree, burning temperature and the flame form.
Fuzzy logic controls detect process changes and adjust mud filter speed, dry solids and excess oxygen level to maintain stable reburned lime quality. Residual carbonate analysis combined with fuzzy control algorithms is used in fuel flow control to optimize specific energy consumption of the process.
