To reduce the bearing axial loads at low grinding forces (about 0), Metso has designed a new pilot valve. The valve is intended for refiners types RGP 244-268
The new pilot valve reduces the bearing loads considerably as pressure in the A- and B-chamber respectively is reduced during certain operational conditions.
The valve fits directly on existing equipment. The only modification required is the alarm limit for low A-chamber pressure to be changed, either on the pressure valve or in the control system.
