Bale press – Expander pin
The Expander pin is installed in the upper and lower attachments of the pre-pressing cylinders and stops pivot wear once and for all.
The problem with pivot wear occurs sooner or later in all machines and equipment. Even if the tolerances are tight, the holes in the cylinder attachments will eventually be worn up. The wear is accelerated and the holes become oval.
When the fastener is tightened, the slotted sleeves are pressed down over the tapered portion of the shaft and expand. The expander
system is locked in place yet the assembly
and disassembly is still easy.
The expander pin installation can be carried out directly in the worn mountings without welding or line boring, and it’s a permanent solution. With the expander pin, the problem with pivot wear is history!
