For real-time measurement of
chip quality
The VisiChips measurement device is designed for real-time measurement of raw material quality in wood processing and optimisation of the overall production process.
VisiChips provides the means to keep the pulping and/or refiner mechanical pulp production process free of disturbances and functioning at best possible capacity, and enables the monitoring of end-product quality, the condition of chipper knives and the quality of saleable and/or purchased chips.
The measuring device can be installed near the chip pocket located after the chipper in the paper/pulp mill’s wood room, in the chip screening system, at the purchased chips reception facility, near the chip bin’s discharge conveyor at the chip refining plant, or near the pulp digester’s loading conveyor. The device can also be used to analyse manual samples or the quality of by-product chips sold at the sawmill.
Ideal applications:
- Pulping or refiner mechanical pulp production process control and adjustment
- Chip quality control in the wood room, chipper condition control
- Quality control of sawmill chips and other purchased chips (manual samples)
- Use as replacement for manual laboratory chip classifiers (SCAN-CM 40:01)
