RMS Replacement System is a substitute for the TDC measurement amplifier DCA-02 and is based on the same technology and structure as other RMS-systems. RMS-RS1 also includes additional functions for improved refiner control.
The TDC measurement provides the same functions as DCA-02 systems. However, the calibration and monitoring help functions for the transmitters have been improved.
The rack has the same width and height as DCA-02 and is designed for installation in the door or the swing frame of the panel cabinet. The rack is about 60 mm deeper because the circuit cards are deeper.
The connection is made on the back of the unit according to the same principle as in other RMS-systems (connectable screw terminal blocks).
From the screw terminal blocks, the cables can be connected directly, or via connection blocks, in the cabinet. At the back, there is an earth bar for cable shield connection.
The rack contains a primary-switched power supply unit for the RMS units, which can be switched over 115/230 V and complies with the required safety standards.
Input and output
The digital outputs consists of potential-free alternating relay contacts. The digital inputs require this kind of relay contact. The analog outputs are galvanically separated power signals of 4–20 mA.
