The SymRun dryer section concept is included in numerous Metso-supplied production lines. SymRun dryer sections have unique features that enable papermakers to produce excellent quality even at high running speeds. The paper web is well supported from the very start of the dryer section .

A SymRun dryer section features unique HiRun and SymRun blowbox and runnability components designed to maintain a sufficiently low level of draw between the press and the dryer section. This ensures excellent runnability even at low draws between the press and dryer sections. The SymRun dryer section is also capable of reducing CD shrinkage due to VacRolls and runnability blowboxes that keep the sheet on the fabric surface.

The SymRun single-tier concept is an excellent choice for a wide range of machine speeds with top efficiency. Due to a continuous support to the web, breaks occur very seldom, which means good efficiency.

The after dryer section after sizing consists of a contactless TurnDry air dryer, single-felted dryer groups. In boardmaking, the curl is adjusted by controlling the air blowing speed and the air temperature in the powerful OptiDry Horizontal unit on the topside of the web.
